MANAUS, Brazil – Daniel Sturridge scored an equalizer for England two minutes after Claudio Marchisio had given Italy the lead to leave the two teams drawing 1-1 at halftime on Saturday in Group D at the World Cup.
Sturridge tapped in a cross from Wayne Rooney in the 37th minute to put England level.
Only a couple of minutes earlier, Marchisio scored from outside the area following a short corner, shooting through a crowded area and past England goalkeeper Joe Hart.
