New York Knicks forward Amare Stoudemire will miss the team's season opener due to a ruptured cyst on the back of his left knee.

According to the New York Post, the injury, known as a Baker's cyst or popiteal, will require Stoudemire to miss two or three weeks, meaning he will miss at least the season opener on Nov. 1 at Brooklyn and possibly several more games.

Stoudemire played in just one game this preseason, a 27-minute appearance on Friday against Toronto that saw him score 18 points and add five rebounds.
