New York Knicks forward Amare Stoudemire will miss Monday's home game against Utah after the death of his brother.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Stoudemire family for their loss," the Knicks said on their Twitter feed.

According to the New York Daily News, Hazell Stoudemire crashed into a tractor-trailer on a highway in Lake Wales, Florida early Monday and was killed instantly. He was 35 years old.

Amare Stoudemire will miss Monday's game as he is heading to Florida. The team also has games on Wednesday in Washington, Friday at home against the Lakers and Saturday in Minnesota.

On the season, the 29-year-old Stoudemire has played in 22 games and is averaging 18.2 points and 8.1 rebounds in over 34 minutes.
