on-Trent, England (Sports Network) - Stoke City striker Kenwyne Jones has been ruled out for three weeks because of a hamstring problem, the club announced on Friday.

Jones sustained the injury in Tuesday's Carling Cup match with Tottenham, which was won by the Potters on penalty kicks.

A scan revealed no major damage to the hamstring and the club is hopeful that Jones will return to face Fulham on October 15.

Stoke will face Manchester United and Swansea City in the league while also taking on Besiktas in the Europa League during the time that Jones is expected to miss.

In five league games this season Jones has scored one goal, while he led the club with nine goals in 34 games last term.
