DALLAS - The Dallas Stars have re-signed defenceman Brad Lukowich to a one-year, two-way contract, and hired Paul Jerrard as an assistant coach.
Lukowich played in 67 games last season for the Texas Stars, the NHL team's primary affiliate. He had four goals and 23 assists in the AHL and played in five games for the Stars.
The 34-year-old Lukowich has played in 658 regular-season NHL games and been part of two Stanley Cup champions — the 1999 Stars and the 2004 Tampa Bay Lightning. He has 23 goals and 90 assists over 13 NHL seasons.
Jerrard has been affiliated with the Stars for the past six seasons as an assistant in the minors. He worked for new Stars coach Glen Gulutzan the last two seasons.
