Up 28-0 in the second quarter of the Rose Bowl against Iowa on Friday, Stanford decided it was time to pull something out of its bag of tricks.
Stanford QB Kevin Hogan took a snap and faked a fumble, which completely fooled the Hawkeye defense. Hogan then looked up and spotted wide receiver Michael Rector wide open heading into the end zone. The senior QB fired a strike to Rector and gave the Cardinal a stunning 35-0 lead.
Everything is working for Stanford in the 102nd Rose Bowl.
