The initial College Football Playoff rankings were released on Tuesday night and Stanford came in at No. 11.

The Cardinal have dominated opponents after its season-opening loss at Northwestern; however, the team struggled against Washington State last Saturday. While the Cardinal came away with the 30-28 victory, the close call may have had an impact on Stanford's initial rankings.

The Cardinal sit a 7-0, 6-1 in the Pac-12 and are ranked No. 9 in the AP Poll. Stanford is the only Pac-12 North team in the College Football Playoff top-25.

The top four teams on the initial list are Clemson, LSU, Ohio State and Alabama.
