London, England (SportsNetwork.com) - Tottenahm-Hotspur bolstered their defense on Wednesday as the club completed the signing of defender Federico Fazio from La Liga outfit Sevilla.
The Argentine defender makes the move to White Hart Lane on a four-year contract after Spurs agreed to meet the reported eight million pound buyout clause in his Sevilla contract.
Fazio's arrival should fill the void left behind by departed defender Michael Dawson, who left north London to sign with Hull City earlier in the week.
"I'm really happy to be here at this club, this great club with very good players," Fazio said via his official Twitter account. "I come to Tottenham because I think it's a very good team, a very good club, very good fans. I know Spurs is a historic club in this country and league."
