Pittsburgh Steelers rookie linebacker Ryan Shazier is making a quick impression during his first training camp.

The 15th overall pick in this year's draft is drawing raves from teammates and coaches for his speed and athleticism.

The former Ohio State star sparkled during a "backs on backers" drill on Monday. He dominated running back LeGarrette Blount during the pass blocking drill, using his footwork to get past Blount on his way to the quarterback.

The Steelers are hopeful Shazier is just as quick at picking up the playbook. Pittsburgh expects Shazier to play right away in defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau's intricate 3-4 defense. Shazier said he's doing what he can to absorb the defense from veteran inside linebacker Lawrence Timmons.
