SAN DIEGO – No. 24 Southern California will play in the Holiday Bowl for the first time when it faces No. 25 Nebraska on Dec. 27.
It will be the fourth appearance for Nebraska.
This game marks the first year of a new contract with the Big Ten Conference, which hasn't been affiliated with San Diego's Holiday Bowl since 1994.
Nebraska (9-3) made three appearances while in the Big 12.
The Trojans (8-4) tied for second in the Pac-12 South at 6-3 under first-year head coach Steve Sarkisian.
Nebraska fired Bo Pelini and replaced him with Mike Riley from Oregon State.
However, associate head coach Barney Cotton will coach the Huskers in the game.
