Seattle, WA (SportsNetwork.com) - Seattle Sounders FC have signed forward Cam Weaver, the club announced on Wednesday.

"We are happy to bring Cam back home and love what he brings us in terms of experience and success in MLS," said sporting director Chris Henderson. "He is dangerous in front of goal and competes for every ball. His character fits very well in our group."

Weaver, 30, joined Sounders FC prior to the Carolina Challenge Cup in the 2014 preseason. He played four preseason matches with one start, logging 110 minutes.

A native of Kent, Wash., Weaver is a five-year MLS veteran with 13 goals and five assists in 90 appearances, reaching the 2011 and 2012 MLS Cup final with the Houston Dynamo.

He began his MLS career with the San Jose Earthquakes in 2009 and spent the majority of his career with Houston. Weaver set career highs with 28 appearances and four goals for the Dynamo in 2011, and added his first postseason point with an assist in the 2013 MLS Cup playoffs.
