San Jose, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Jose Sharks will have rookie forward Tomas Hertl back in the lineup for Friday's game against the Colorado Avalanche.

Hertl underwent surgery in December to repair ligament damage to his right knee caused by a collision with Los Angeles Kings captain Dustin Brown on Dec. 19. The talented 20-year-old has been medically cleared to play in Friday's test, San Jose's second-to-last game prior to the upcoming Western Conference playoffs.

The 17th overall pick in the 2012 NHL Draft, Hertl racked up 15 goals and 10 assists in 35 games prior being sidelined, highlighted by a four-goal performance against the New York Rangers on Oct. 8.
