Ottawa Senators left wing Mike Hoffman was awarded a one-year, $2 million deal by an arbitrator on Monday.

Hoffman was seeking $3.4 million while the team was offering $1.75 million. The arbitration hearing was Thursday, but a ruling was not rendered until four days later due to the long weekend in Ontario.

The 25-year-old Hoffman collected an NHL-best 27 goals among rookies and added 21 assists and a plus-16 rating last season. He also had one tally and set up two others in the Senators' first-round loss to Montreal.

Ottawa is 2-for-2 in arbitration cases this summer, as forward Alex Chiasson received $1.2 million after asking for $2.475 million.
