The Cavaliers inked Russian big man Sasha Kaun to a two-year deal this summer, and it appears as though they got him at somewhat of a bargain price.
Kaun will earn $1.2 million in the first year of his contract, according to Terry Pluto of Cleveland.com.
Productive seven-footers typically get overpaid at the NBA level, but the 30-year-old Kaun, due to a combination of his age and being unproven in the states, has agreed to come over for a minimum-money deal.
Cleveland adds frontcourt depth in the event of injury (or free agency issues in year two), and does so without adding further bloat to the team's salary cap situation.
