Amu Saaka scored 30 points and Furman routed Chattanooga 85-59 on Saturday.

Saaka, Furman's leading scorer at 16.2 points a game, gave the Paladins (14-5, 6-2 Southern Conference) nearly twice his normal output. Omar Wattad, Chattanooga's leading scorer at 15.3 points a game, couldn't muster half of his.

Wattad made only 2 of 12 from the field and was 0 for 10 from 3-point range. He finished with six points and Chattanooga (11-10, 7-2) never led.

The Mocs shot only 33.9 percent from the field (20 of 59) but stayed within single-digit range of the Paladins for the first 14 minutes. But Saaka, who made 11 of 14 shots from the field, hit a jumper with 5:32 left in the first half, making it 25-14. The Paladins led by double figures the rest of the way and built their biggest cushion, 27 points, with 1:49 left.
