The Colorado Avalanche signed defenseman Ryan Wilson to a three-year contract on Monday.

The 25-year-old Ontario native was scheduled to be a restricted free agent on July 1.

Wilson registered one goal and a career-high 20 assists in 59 games last season for the Avalanche. He led all Colorado defensemen with a plus-11 rating.

"Ryan brings an element that compliments our defense," said Avalanche general manager Greg Sherman. "We are pleased to sign him to a multi-year deal and look forward to seeing him at camp."

Acquired from the Calgary Flames on March 4, 2009, Wilson has totaled seven goals and 58 points in 187 career games -- all with the Avalanche.

The club also signed forwards Patrick Bordeleau and David Van Der Gulik to one-year contracts.
