MIAMI (AP) Former NFL rushing champion Chris Johnson has completed a visit to the Miami Dolphins.

The free agent met Thursday with the Dolphins, who need a replacement for Lamar Miller. He signed with Houston last week.

Johnson, a native of Orlando, Florida, was limited to 11 games with Arizona last year because he cracked a bone in his knee. He rushed for 814 yards for the Cardinals, and 663 yards for the Jets in 2014.

Johnson made the Pro Bowl three times and topped 1,000 yards rushing in each of his six seasons with the Tennessee Titans. In 2009, he led the NFL in rushing with 2,006 yards.

Last week the Dolphins signed C.J. Anderson to an $18 million, four-year offer sheet, but Denver matched it.
