The UFC completed yet another successful trip to the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ on Saturday in front of a crown of 10,555 at UFC Fight Night: Johnson vs. Bader. UFC VP of Public Relations Dave Sholler met with the media afterwards to discuss the event and hand out post-fight bonuses.
Headliner Anthony "Rumble" Johnson and heavyweight Ben Rothwell each took home a Performance of the Night bonus for their stoppage victories on the main card. Johnson needed just 1:26 to snap Ryan Bader's five-fight win streak, while Barnett became the first person ever to finish Josh Barnett by submission.
Jimmie Rivera and Iuri Alcantara took home $50,000 Fight of the Night bonuses for their three-round scrap, the only main-card bout that did not end in a finish. Rivera won a decision thanks in part to his three takedowns and a big second round, but Alcantara was never out of the fight at any point.
All bonused fighters were awarded $50,000 in additional to their fight purses.
