Toronto, ON – The Kansas City Royals have requested unconditional release waivers on catcher Humberto Quintero.
Quintero hit .232 with one homer and 19 RBI in 43 games for the Royals this season. He was designated for assignment on June 27.
In 422 career contests with the Padres, Astros and Royals, Quintero has hit .234 with 16 home runs and 113 RBI.
