Royals' Hochevar leaves game

Kansas City Royals starter Luke Hochevar left Friday's game in the fourth inning after taking a line drive off his left leg.

With two outs and a runner on first in the fourth inning, Hochevar took a hard liner off his left leg from the Indians' Carlos Santana and immediately fell to the ground.

The ball deflected off the pitcher and right to Eric Hosmer at first base, where he stepped on the bag for the final out, but Hochevar had to be helped off the field and he did not return to the mound for the fifth inning.

Hochevar allowed seven runs on nine hits and a walk through his four innings of work.
