(STATS) - Top-ranked Jacksonville State has turned back-to-back first-place showdowns in the Ohio Valley into definitive victories.

Without giving up a touchdown.

The Gamecocks pulled away from Eastern Illinois to win 24-3 on Saturday and remain as the last unbeaten team in OVC action.

Quarterback Eli Jenkins had 242 yards of total offense and threw for a touchdown, while Troymaine Pope carried the ball 21 times for 114 yards and a touchdown. Dawson Wells also scored off an interception for the second straight game, this time a 35-yarder.

Jacksonville State (8-1, 6-0) owns a one-game lead over UT Martin (6-3, 5-1) and Eastern Illinois (5-4, 5-1) and is up two games on Eastern Kentucky (5-4, 4-2), which it beat 34-0 last Saturday.
