And what about the St. Louis Cardinals? Their reward for potentially finishing with the best record in the regular season would be to face the winner of the Wild Card Game --€“ the team with potentially the second-best record in the regular season.

So, is Major League Baseball considering changing the postseason format? Not yet, according to FOX Sports MLB Insider Ken Rosenthal. Instead, Rosenthal suggests that MLB simply reseed the remaining teams after the Wild Card Game.
