Kerkrade, Netherlands – Roda confirmed Tuesday that it has signed former Newcastle United defender Tamas Kadar on a free transfer.
Kadar, a Hungary international, originally joined Newcastle in 2008 from Zalaegerszegi TE but failed to break into the first team at St. James' Park.
The 22-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the Eredivisie club after being released by the Magpies at the conclusion of last season.
"We are delighted that we have signed Tamas shortly before the start of the season," Roda technical director Gerard Wielaert told the club's official website.
