The Colorado Rockies placed closer Rafael Betancourt on the 15-day disabled list prior to Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Betancourt is dealing with a strained right groin and has not pitched since being reached for a pair of runs on three hits in an inning of work in Friday's matchup with the Dodgers.

The veteran right-hander has converted 11-of-12 save opportunities this season and owns a 3.20 earned run average along with a 1-3 record over 22 appearances.

According to the Rockies' official site, the club is expected to recall onetime closer Manny Corpas from Colorado Springs to fill Betancourt's roster spot.

Corpas, who saved 19 games for the Rockies during their run to the World Series in 2007, is 2-3 with a 5.19 ERA in 17 games for Colorado Springs.

The 30-year-old Panamanian pitched in 224 games for Colorado from 2006-10 before being released by the organization. He returned to the Rockies on a minor league contract in January after making 48 appearances for the Chicago Cubs last season.
