The Colorado Rockies acquired pitcher Tyler Chatwood from the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim for catcher Chris Iannetta on Wednesday.

Chatwood appeared in 27 games with 25 starts for the Angels last season -- his first in the majors -- and pitched to a 4.75 ERA with a 6-11 record. He struck out 74 and walked 71 through 142 innings on the mound.

Iannetta is a six-year veteran with Colorado and is a career .235 hitter with a .357 on-base percentage, 72 doubles, 63 home runs and 236 RBI.

Through a career-high 112 games last season, Iannetta hit .238 with 70 walks, 17 doubles, 14 home runs and 55 runs batted in.
