Richmond to visit Virginia in Rocco debut
University Richmond, VA – The University of Richmond announced its 2012 football schedule under new head coach Danny Rocco on Thursday.
Rocco will make his Richmond debut on Sept. 1 at the University of Virginia. He was a Cavaliers assistant from 2001-05.
Rocco's home debut at Robins Stadium comes the following week, Sept. 8, in the Spiders' first-ever meeting against Gardner-Webb.
Richmond will then wrap up non-conference play on Sept. 15 at VMI.
Within CAA Football, Richmond will play home games against Old Dominion (Sept. 29), James Madison (Oct. 20), Rhode Island (Nov. 3, Homecoming) and Delaware (Nov. 10).
The Spiders' road games in the CAA are against 2012 conference newcomer Georgia State (Sept. 22), Villanova (Oct. 6), New Hampshire (Oct. 13) and William & Mary (Nov. 17) in the 122nd edition of The South's Oldest Rivalry.
