The wife a jogger allegedly killed in a random attack by former Texas A&M wide receiver Thomas Johnson was found dead on Monday of an apparent suicide, according to reports out of Dallas.

Auhtorities responding to a welfare check on Patti Stevens reportedly found her dead of apparent carbon monoxide poisoning in the garage, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Her husband, Dave Stevens, was slain earlier this month while jogging at nearby White Rock Lake. Johnson, who left the Aggies during his freshman season, allegedly attacked and killed Dave Stevens with a machete, then called 911 to turn himself in.

Patti Stevens had given a heartbreaking interview to the Dallas Morning News the week before about coping with the loss of her husband.

Johnson remains in jail on $500,000 bond. Friends and family have reportedly said he is schizophrenic but had never acted violent.
