Houston Texans coach Bill O'Brien confirmed on Wednesday that running back Arian Foster suffered a groin injury earlier this week and will "miss some time."

ESPN's Tania Gangulia reports that the four-time Pro Bowler is scheduled to undergo surgery on Monday.

"I feel bad for him personally," O'Brien said. "He came into this offseason and he really worked extremely hard.

"As a football team, it's next man up."

If Foster is indeed out, Alfred Blue will likely move into the starting role in the backfield. Blue played in just three games in his first season in Houston last year, rushing for 528 yards and two touchdowns.
