The New Orleans Saints are badly looking to get healthy heading into the Week 4 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. Fortunately, head coach Sean Payton told WWL radio, according to Christopher Dabe of The Times-Picayune, that safety Jairus Byrd may be ready for action.

"Jairus right now has been back practicing and I'm curious this week, all of us are," Payton said. "Last week was his first week back where he was able to actually get some reps. We'll do the same this week. And hopefully he can be available."

"This was kind of a targeted week, going into Week 4," Payton said. "The key is going to be how he responds when he is actually goes out there for his second week going through football activity . How much can he get done in the individual period and the 7-on-7?"

The good news is that it seems the swelling has gone down in Byrd's knee, so he may be ready to help out this New Orleans defense on Sunday Night Football in Week 4. It's going to be more than worth monitoring as we move forward in the week.
