The New Orleans Saints nearly pulled off a road victory against the rival Carolina Panthers in Week 3. What made this even more impressive is the fact that the Saints played well without quarterback Drew Brees, who's dealing with a shoulder injury.

Backup quarterback Luke McCown stepped in and completed 31 of 38 passes for 310 yards and one interception. He played well, but in the end it was just a little too much Cam Newton for the Saints to hold down.

For the 0-3 Saints, the question now becomes whether or not Brees will be ready for Week 4. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, it doesn't look promising.

Obviously it's going to just be a wait-and-see type of approach heading into the week, but while McCown played well, fingers remain crossed that Brees can be back to face the Dallas Cowboys.
