Ronda Rousey will defend her women's bantamweight title on foreign soil on Saturday after her bout against Bethe Correia was made official during the weigh-ins in Brazil.
Rousey came in perfectly on weight at 135 pounds as she was greeted by a chorus of loud cheers from the Brazilian faithful who have embraced her all week long.
"You're not going to be disappointed," Rousey said. "I'm going to give you the best women's title fight you've ever seen, the most devastating loss you've ever seen from Bethe and my best win."
Surprising to some, Correia walked into a mixed reaction from her home country Brazilian crowd with many cheering and others booing the top-ranked contender.
Correia weighed 134 pounds for her first title fight in the UFC and as soon as she got nose-to-nose with Rousey, she began jawing and trash talking the champion like she's done since their fight was made official.
"I've been dreaming about this moment for a long time," Correia said. "I think Brazil needs a female champion. I know a lot of people aren't rooting for me but I'm going to fight for all of Brazil.
All of the other fighters on the UFC 190 card made weight with the exception of Clint Hester, who came in at 0.7 pounds over the middleweight limit. He had one hour to cut the additional weight or risk paying a penalty to his opponent.
