The NBA Finals are back in San Antonio for the first time since 2007 — hardly a drought by any measure.

Yet it still feels overdue to many in "Military City USA," where the Spurs — helmed by Air Force graduate Gregg Popovich — are the only game in town. Fans say the Spurs have a particularly deep connection with their city.

Game 3 is Tuesday night. The series with the Miami Heat is tied 1-1.

Larry Coker sees a perfect marriage of a no-nonsense coach in Popovich and a no-nonsense city. The former Miami Hurricanes coach is now at Texas-San Antonio, and he's rooting for the Spurs to win their fifth ring in the Tim Duncan era.
