ASHBURN, Va. (AP) Washington Redskins coach Jay Gruden says tight end Jordan Reed tweaked a leg muscle and was limited in practice.

Gruden said Thursday that Reed hurt a quadriceps muscle, adding: ''I think it's minor.''

Reed has had problems with injuries throughout his NFL career, appearing in only 20 of 32 games entering this season.

In Washington's Week 1 loss to Miami, Reed led the Redskins with seven catches. Those plays gained 63 yards, and Reed scored a touchdown.

Gruden evaded a question about whether Robert Griffin III or Colt McCoy would be the backup quarterback when the Redskins (0-1) host the St. Louis Rams (1-0) on Sunday.
