The Washington Redskins signed kicker Neil Rackers and linebacker Jonathan Goff on Monday.

It had been reported last week that Rackers was being brought in by the team to compete for the kicking job with Graham Gano.

Rackers connected on 32-of-38 field goal tries and all but one of his 40 PATs for the Texans last season. He has made 80 percent of his field goal attempts in a 12-year career playing for Cincinnati, Arizona and Houston.

Gano was just 31-of-41 on field goals last year and had five of them blocked. The 25-year-old native of Scotland joined the Redskins in December of 2009 and has connected on 73.8 percent of his field goal tries.

Goff, a three-year veteran, had spent his entire career with the Giants and started all 16 games last season. He totaled 80 tackles and a sack in 2010 and has 107 tackles and two sacks over 37 career games.
