Red Sox-Yanks washed out, DH set for Sunday

Bronx, NY – Friday night's game between the Boston Red Sox champion New York Yankees has been postponed due to rain.

The teams will make up the contest as part of a doubleheader on Sunday with game times of 1:05 p.m. (et) and 6:30 p.m. (et).

The Red Sox entered Friday holding a two-game lead on Tampa Bay for the lead in the wild card standings.

Lefty Jon Lester (15-8) was bumped from Friday to start Saturday's game for the Red Sox. Tim Wakefield (7-7) and John Lackey (12-12) will pitch in Sunday's doubleheader.

Freddy Garcia (11-8), who was scheduled to start Friday for the Yankees, will go on Saturday. A.J. Burnett (10-11) and Ivan Nova (16-4) will take the mound Sunday.
