The Boston Red Sox activated right-handed reliever Joel Hanrahan from the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday.

Hanrahan had been on the DL since April 16, retroactive to April 14, with a right hamstring strain. Over six relief appearances entering Tuesday's game against Toronto, he is 0-1 with an 11.57 earned run average and three saves.

The 31-year-old veteran made two rehab appearances for Triple-A Pawtucket this past weekend, yielding two runs over two innings.

Boston had already cleared a spot on the 25-man roster when right-hander Daniel Bard was optioned to Double-A Portland. Bard made two relief appearances for the Red Sox after being recalled on April 24, allowing one run on one hit and two walks over one inning.
