Red Bull New York confirmed Wednesday that midfielder Victor Palsson has been loaned to Dutch club NEC Nijmegen.

"We believe that this is an excellent opportunity for Victor to earn playing time in a good league," said Red Bulls General Manager and Sporting Director Erik Soler. "Victor is still a very young player with a lot of potential and we look forward to tracking his progress in the Netherlands, with the option of bringing him back to New York next year."

Palsson has appeared in 16 games with the Red Bulls, logging four starts and 463 minutes. The 21-year-old will be with NEC for the entire 2012-13 Eredivisie season, which ends in May 2013.
