Real Sociedad not only sustained some late 2 road victory at the Benito Villamarin on Sunday.

Imanol Agirretxe gave Real Sociedad the lead in the 56th minute with Carlos Vela adding a second in the 76th minute.

It seemed as if Real Sociedad would hold onto its two-goal advantage to claim an unlikely road win, but Real Betis responded with goals in the 81st and 85th minutes from Jonathan Pereira.

But in the dying minutes, Inigo Martinez struck to steal the win for the visitors and snap an eight-game winless run.

Real Sociedad is still fighting an early battle against relegation, but the win pulls the club out of the drop zone for the time being, sitting fifth from bottom with 12 points.

Real Betis has struggled immensely of late, as it is winless in its last nine La Liga matches after a perfect four-win start. It leads Real Sociedad by just one point in the table.

Levante 4, Sporting Gijon 0

Valencia, Spain - Levante snapped a three-game losing skid on Sunday, cruising to a 4-0 win over Sporting Gijon at the Ciutat de Valencia.

Jose Barkero gave Levante the first-half lead with his goal in the 20th minute before Valdo doubled it just two minutes into the second half.

Arouna Kone then took control, bagging a brace for Levante with goals coming in the 52nd and 62nd minutes to put the result beyond any doubt.

The win sees Levante keep pace with the top three and close the gap on second- place Barcelona, which suffered its first loss of the season on Saturday.

Levante occupies fourth place with 26 points while Sporting Gijon remains entrenched in a relegation battle with just 12 points from 13 matches.

Osasuna 2, Espanyol 1

Barcelona, Spain - Osasuna continued its consistent play in La Liga, earning a 2-1 win over Espanyol at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys on Sunday.

The win sees Osasuna climb above Espanyol in the La Liga table, as the visitors moved into seventh place, one spot ahead of their Sunday opponents.

Roland Lamah and Javad Nekounam proved that the most dangerous times to score are before and after a restart, as the Belgian put Osasuna ahead in the 44th minute and Iranian doubled the lead in the 50th minute.

Espanyol responded quickly through Alvaro Vazquez, who scored in the 56th minute, but the home side failed conjure an equalizer.

Winless in its last four league contests, Espanyol is deadlocked with Athletic Bilbao on 17 points apiece.

Mallorca 2, Racing 1

Mallorca, Spain - Mallorca snapped a six-game winless streak on Sunday, edging Racing with a 2-1 win at the Estadio Son Moix.

Marc Torrejon Moya gifted Mallorca the lead with an own goal just before halftime.

Victor then extended that advantage in the 58th minute before Ariel Nahuelpan pulled a goal back for Racing in the 75th minute. Nahuelpan's strike proved to be nothing more than a consolation goal, as Racing failed to mount a comeback.

Racing remains bottom of La Liga with just nine points, while Mallorca moves slightly out of the relegation zone with 13 points.

Granada 1, Athletic Bilbao 0

Bilbao, Spain - Granada extended its unbeaten run in La Liga play to 13 games with a 1-0 win over Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.

Inigo Lopez scored the lone goal in the 31st minute to see Granada pull out of last place in the Spanish top flight.

Granada sits third from bottom with 12 points through 12 games, while Athletic Bilbao, mid-table with 17 points, loses for the first time in eight La Liga matches.

Sevilla 1, Real Zaragoza 0

Aragon, Spain - In La Liga's final match on Sunday, Sevilla narrowly defeated Real Zaragoza at the Estadio La Romareda, as Alvaro Negredo scored the lone goal in a 1-0 victory for the visitors.

Negredo converted from the penalty spot to see Sevilla snap a five-game winless run and climb one point in front of Malaga in the table.

With Malaga set to kick off on Monday, Sevilla currently occupies fifth place with 21 points.

Real Zaragoza, second from bottom with just ten points, has dropped two straight and is winless in its last six.
