The Tampa Bay Rays acquired relief pitcher Jesse Crain from the Chicago White Sox for players to be named later or cash considerations.

Crain, who is still on the disabled list due to a sore shoulder and hasn't pitched since June 29, was 2-3 and recorded a minuscule 0.74 ERA to go along with 46 strikeouts over 36 2/3 innings.

The 32-year-old Toronto native was selected to his first All-Star Game but did not pitch due to his injury.

Over the course of his 10-year career with the Minnesota Twins and White Sox, Crain is 45-30 with a 3.05 ERA.
