Baltimore Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta left Saturday's practice session on a cart, and was later diagnosed with a dislocated hip.

Pitta was stricken when he collided with safety James Ihedigbo.

The club announced that the 28-year-old is set to miss the remainder of the preseason, and at least the season opener against Denver on Sept. 5.

Pitta signed a second-round tender back in May worth $2.023 million. The Brigham Young product had one of his best seasons last year, hauling in career-highs with 61 catches for 669 yards and seven touchdowns for the Super Bowl champs.
