However, Turco is not yet an official member of the team as he has to be placed on waivers. Should he clear waivers, he will be able to join the squad on Wednesday.

Also, if he does clear waivers, he will be unable to play in the playoffs for the Bruins as he will be joining the team after the trade deadline.

Rask is suffering from what general manager Peter Chiarelli said is a lower abdomen strain/groin strain and could possibly be unavailable until the playoffs.

He suffered the injury in the second period of Saturday's loss to the New York Islanders.

On the season, he is 11-8-3 with three shutouts and a 2.05 goals against average in 23 games.

Turco, 36, has not played at all this season after spending the 2010-11 campaign with the Chicago Blackhawks. He went 11-11-3 with one shutout and a 3.02 GAA in the Windy City.

He began his career with Dallas in the 2000-01 season and played there prior to last season's stint with the Blackhawks.

In 538 games, he is 273-165-43 with 26 ties, 41 shutouts and a 2.35 GAA. Also, he is 21-26 with four shutouts and a 2.17 GAA in 47 playoff appearances.
