After their victory Thursday over the Oakland Athletics, the Texas Rangers headed for the airport. Some of them, specifically the rookies on the first-place club's roster, had to wear fancy costumes as part of baseball's time-honored 'rookie hazing day' tradition.

Shortstop Elvis Andrus was kind enough to document the whole thing on Twitter, and he did so with enthusiasm:

From left to right, that group of players includes Delino DeShields, Ryan Rua, Joey Gallo, Keone Kela, Hanser Alberto, Chi Chi Gonzalez, Andrew Faulkner, Jayce Tingler, Ryan Strausborger and Luke Jackson.

Looks like the Rangers' veterans procured some Ninja Turtle, Sailor Moon (or Alice in Wonderland), Super Mario Brothers and generic 'princess' costumes with which to outfit the kids. Luckily, verybody seemed to be having a good time with it...that sort of thing will happen when a club is as red-hot as the Rangers are currently.

Jackson even tweeted out a photo of his own, he was having so much fun:

It's times like this we have to thank the existence of social media, as without it there wouldn't be readily-available photos of professional baseball players wearing amusing and colorful costumes essentially because they have no choice.
