Steven Naismith's ninth goal of the campaign arrived after 21 minutes, and Nikica Jelavic doubled the advantage 15 minutes from time, giving Rangers 10 wins and a draw from its last 11 SPL games.
The opening goal was set up by Steven Whittaker midway through the first half, while Hearts put together a good spell of pressure in the second half that failed to produce a goal.
Jelavic was brought into the match in the 71st minute and he put his name on the scoresheet a few minutes later when he volleyed home a cross from Carlos Bocanegra to seal the win.
Celtic 2, Aberdeen 1
Glasgow, Scotland - Celtic snapped a poor run of form on Sunday by securing a 2-1 home victory over Aberdeen.
The Hoops had claimed only one win in their last four games prior to the match, but Ki Sung-Yueng got the home side off to a good start by scoring the opener in the 17th minute.
Ryan Jack equalized for Aberdeen just before the hour mark, but former Don Charlie Mulgrew netted the winning goal by scoring from close range following a free kick from Ki.
Jack was then sent off with 10 minutes to play as he received his second yellow card, bringing an end to Aberdeen's two-game winning streak.
