Agnieszka Radwanska was a second-round winner while rain suspended top-seeded Victoria Azarenka's match at the $2.168 million Rogers Cup tennis event.

Radwanska, seeded second, battled back for a hard-fought 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) victory over Germany's Mona Barthel on the hardcourts at Uniprix Stadium.

Azarenka's match was one of three suspended on Thursday due to inclement weather. The tournament's top seed is currently tied with Tamira Paszek, 3-3.

Sixth-seeded Angelique Kerber holds a 6-1, 1-3 lead over Ekaterina Makarova and seventh-seeded Caroline Wozniacki is in front of Kiki Bertens, 7-5, 4-0.

All three suspended matches are scheduled to resume on Friday.

Meanwhile, ninth-seeded Frenchwoman Marion Bartoli flattened Chinese Peng Shuai 6-1, 6-3, while 10th-seeded Li Na got past Eugenie Bouchard 6-4, 6-4, and Italian Roberta Vinci double-bageled 11th-seeded former world No. 1 Ana Ivanovic of Serbia 6-0, 6-0 in a mere 44 minutes. Bartoli will meet fifth- seeded former Wimbledon titlist Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic on Friday. The former French Open champion Ivanovic captured the Rogers Cup in Montreal in 2006, as this tournament shifts between Montreal and Toronto each year.

The upsets continued, as Varvara Lepchenko ousted 12th-seeded Dominika Cibulkova 6-4, 6-4, while Canada's own Aleksandra Wozniak took out 13th-seeded former No. 1 Serb Jelena Jankovic 6-2, 6-3, and Spaniard Carla Suarez Navarro fought back to oust 15th-seeded German slugger Sabine Lisicki 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. Jankovic was the 2007 Rogers Cup runner-up in Toronto.

Christina McHale was also a winner, as she took down Galina Voskoboeva 7-5, 3-6, 6-2.

The 2012 Rogers Cup champion will pocket $385,000.
