QPR's summer spending continued on Friday with the addition of Cameroon international Stephane Mbia from Marseille.

The 26-year-old arrives in London for an undisclosed fee on a two-year contract, and he becomes the 12th new signing made by the club this summer.

Mbia spent five seasons with Rennes before securing a move to Marseille in 2009, where he appeared in 53 games and scored three goals.

"Stephane is a very good player, and is another who can play in a number of positions," QPR manager Mark Hughes told the club's official website.

"He is very adept as a defensive midfielder but he has been regularly playing at center back so we have got another player who can add to the flexibility of the squad."

Mbia has also earned 36 caps for Cameroon and scored three times for his country.
