QPR signed free agent winger Junior Hoilett to a four-year contract Friday.

Hoilett, 22, last played for Blackburn, but his contract expired at the end of last season. He played for Blackburn from 2007-12, but was loaned to St. Pauli and Paderborn in Germany during that time.

"The ambition to take this club to the next level was something I really wanted to be part of," said Hoilett, who was born in Canada. "The manager (Mark Hughes) and the owners have huge ambitions to achieve things here and this is the perfect place for me to further my career."

Hughes coached Hoilett at Blackburn, and was excited to add him at QPR.

"We knew then he was going to have a great future and he's certainly showed that talent over the last few seasons at Ewood Park," Hughes said.

"He's shown he's a player of top quality and a player that can makes things happen, both on his own and as a team player."
