Making his Queens Park Rangers debut, Joey 0 draw with Barton's previous club, Newcastle United, on Monday.

QPR made several moves before the close of the transfer window, bringing in Barton, Shaun Wright-Phillips, and Anton Ferdinand, but the new-look squad failed to yield an immediate result at home.

Despite controlling much of the match and create many chances in both halves, QPR was unable to finish in front of goal.

Wright-Phillips came closest to breaking the deadlock in the 39th minute. The England winger broke free on the right side of the box and chipped a shot over the onrushing Tim Krul, but his effort was headed off the goal line by Newcastle defender Steven Taylor.

It is the first draw of the season for QPR, which has four points thus far in the early Premiership season.

Newcastle moves into a tie with Stoke City for fourth place with eight points from four matches.
