PSG moved to the top of the Ligue 1 table on Friday thanks to a 2-0 defeat of Bordeaux at the Stade Jacques Chaban- Delmas.

The visitors needed just 30 minutes to take the lead as Zlatan Ibrahimovic played a marvelous through ball to find Blaise Matuidi. The PSG midfielder had his first attempt on goal stopped by Cedric Carrasso but he managed to poke home the rebound to open the scoring.

The dagger came in the 64th minute when Marco Verratti released Lucas Moura through on goal. The Brazilian winger feigned a square pass to the penalty spot to draw Carrasso off his line before calmly slotting the ball into the empty net.

PSG improves to 11 points on the season to move one point clear of Monaco, though the newly-promoted side can reclaim first place with a win over Lorient at the Stade Louis II on Sunday.

Bordeaux drops its third league match of the season to remain on four points.

Marseille will be looking to climb back in front of PSG with maximum points over Toulouse at the Stadium Municipal on Saturday. A win for Marseille would see the club improve to 12 points on the season, one point better than PSG.
