PSG ends short skid with win over Auxerre

Christophe Jallet, Jeremy Menez and Nene had game losing skid with a 3-2 win over Auxerre on Sunday at the Parc des Princes in Ligue 1.

PSG and Auxerre combined for all five goals after half, and Nene's penalty in the 81st minute turned out to be the difference. PSG, which led Ligue 1 for a long stretch this season, also snapped a three-game skid in all competitions.

The Paris club, rebuilt this offseason with more than $100 million in transfer activity, had gone 12 straight without a loss before falling at home to Nancy, and followed that with a 3-0 setback at Marseille last weekend.

PSG continued to struggle Thursday, as it lost at Red Bull Salzburg in Europa League action, but after Jallet opened the scoring in the 52nd, Menz and Nene added goals 5 minutes apart later in the half.

Auxerre equaled PSG's first goal in the 59th through Dennis Oliech, but after the two quick goals, Dariusz Dudka's 87th-minute strike was all Auxerre could muster as it lost its third straight and for the fourth time in its last five.

PSG climbed to second in the table, three points behind leader Montpellier and Auxerre remained near the relegation zone in 16th - just one point from safety after 16 matches.

Lyon 3, Toulouse 2

Lyon, France - Bakari Kone, Ederson and Lisandro Lopez scored to lift Lyon to a three-goal lead against Toulouse, and it held on for a 3-2 win Sunday at the Stade de Gerland in Ligue 1.

Kone opened the scoring in the 38th, Ederson doubled the lead in the 52nd, and Lopez put Lyon in front by three goals from the penalty spot in the 66th. Then Umut Bulut scored in the 68th and Moussa Sissoko scored a penalty in the 75th, as Toulouse closed to within a goal.

But Lyon held on for its sixth win in eight home matches, and moved to fourth. Toulouse, which entered the match level on points with Lyon, sits three points back in sixth.

Bordeaux 2, Nancy 0

Bordeaux, France - Jaroslav Plasil scored in the opening minute and Carlos Henrique added a goal early in the second half as Bordeaux defeated Nancy 2-0 on Sunday at the Stade Chaban-Delmas in Ligue 1.

Bordeaux won its second straight and for the third time in its last five, as it moved to 12th and has a spot in the upper half of the table sight. Bordeaux trails Caen and Evian on goal differential. All three clubs have 19 points.

Nancy dropped its second straight and sits 19th on goal differential. Nice and Valenciennes also have 14 points.
