Backup quarterback Michael Pruneau threw for two touchdowns and ran for another, and undefeated Harvard beat Cornell 34-24 in an Ivy League game on Saturday.

Pruneau put the game out of reach in the fourth quarter with a 22-yard pass to Cameron Brate in the corner of the end zone, giving Harvard (4-0, 2-0) its eighth consecutive win over Cornell (1-3, 0-2).

Cornell had 457 total yards to Harvard's 425, but the Big Red couldn't contain Pruneau, who was 23 of 29 for 340 yards passing. Pruneau had a 3-yard scoring run in the first quarter, hit Tyler Hamblin on a 36-yard pass for a score in the third, and threw the game-clincher to Brate.

Harvard's defense quashed Cornell's ground game, holding it to minus-15 yards, but Big Red QB Jeff Mathews made up for it in the air, completing 39 of 56 passes for 472 yards and two TDs.
